Every summer, the Boys’ Ranch, Girls’ Ranch, Communities, and ASCEND gather at the beach for a week of fun, rest and time together as the entire Ranch family. It’s a chance to reconnect with friends and family before a new school year begins.
On this summer’s beach trip, we made memories through beach parties, paddleboarding, riding waves, volleyball and basketball tournaments, a trip to the water park and meals together. There was plenty of laughter, especially during the hilarious skits each family created, giving everyone a chance to enjoy being together.
Testimonies of Hope
During our ONE worship service, we gathered on the beach as Brodie shared Jesus’ words in John 10:10: “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
It was moving to hear from several former and current residents about how Jesus has changed their lives. For the kids listening, it was powerful to hear testimonies from people who had also walked through hard things and discovered their stories didn’t have to end there — that there is Hope in Jesus and that God has a purpose for each of them.
A Step of Faith
One of the most meaningful moments of the beach trip was seeing many of our children take their next step of faith and be baptized in the ocean. Surrounded by their Ranch family, each of them publicly shared their desire to follow Jesus, and we all celebrated together.
The beach trip gave our families a chance to slow down, laugh and make memories together. It was also a chance to show our kids what family means — that family supports you, laughs with you, cries with you and does life with you.
