Three Ways to Give. One Big Impact.
The Legends Classic is one of Big Oak Ranch’s largest fundraising events of the year. The tournament takes place at Old Overton Club in Birmingham, Alabama, and brings together donors, players, and community partners.
Every dollar raised helps provide safe homes, education, and support for children at Big Oak Ranch. Whether you’re playing, bidding, or a part of the ball drop, your participation supports real needs. This event is about more than just a good time; it’s about making a lasting difference.
Legends Ball Drop
The Legends Ball Drop is one of the most exciting parts of the Legends Classic and you don’t even have to swing a club to join in. Participants reserve numbered golf balls and on the event day, the CraneWorks helicopter will hover above the driving range at Old Overton Club and drop hundreds of numbered golf balls above a single hole. Here’s how it works:
- Reserve one or more golf balls before 11 a.m. CST on Monday, Sept. 22
- Each reserved ball is entered under your name
- Watch the drop streamed live on Facebook from Old Overton Club
- Closest ball to the hole wins the 2025 Club Car
Every ball reserved helps fund homes, care, and education for children who need it most.
Online Auction
The Legends Classic Online Auction brings purpose and generosity together. From Sept. 15 to Sept. 21 at 6:30 p.m., you can browse and bid on a wide range of items — including travel packages, memorabilia, and unique experiences — all while supporting the ministries of Big Oak Ranch. Open to everyone, the auction offers a chance to:
- Give back in a tangible way
- Bid on items you’ll actually use or enjoy
- Support the daily needs of children at Big Oak Ranch
- Invite friends and family to participate from anywhere
Every bid placed helps provide a safe, stable, and supportive environment for children healing from the effects of abuse and neglect. Your participation will make a lasting impact.
Golf Tournament
Play with Purpose
The Legends Classic Golf Tournament will be held Sept. 22 at the prestigious Old Overton Club. This four-player scramble offers more than just great golf — it’s an opportunity to directly support the ministries of Big Oak Ranch. Each team sponsorship helps cover the cost of caring for a child for one year through the Big 12 Club, turning your time on the course into long-term impact.
Tournament Format & Rules
The tournament follows a four-person scramble format. Each player tees off, the best shot is selected, and all team members play from that spot until the hole is completed.
Where and When Is the Tournament?
The tournament will be held on Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at Old Overton Club in Birmingham, Ala.
- Check-in: 10:30 a.m.
- Shotgun start: Noon
- Ball Drop: 5 p.m.
- Dinner: Immediately following tournament conclusion
How Does My Participation Help?
Your Participation provides a child at Big Oak Ranch with everything they need to thrive — food, clothing, medical care, counseling, and the chance to enjoy sports, activities and community. More than that, you’re helping a child experience the stability and love of a Christ-centered home where Hope and healing are found.
Will there be a dinner?
Following the excitement of the golf tournament on Monday, the 22nd, all teams will come together for the Legends Classic Closing Dinner. This event features a celebratory meal, team awards, and the grand finale: the Ball Drop. As hundreds of golf balls fall from the CraneWorks helicopter, the ball landing closest to the pin secures the win, marking a conclusion to the tournament and our Legends Classic event.
