A Christmas They’ll Never Forget

At Big Oak Ranch, Christmas is about the intention behind the gifts.

For many of our children, their past Christmases told a very different story. This day reminded them of the fears they face daily, as well as neglect and loneliness; some had never experienced Christmas at all. If they received gifts, they just acted as reminders of what was missing in their life. These moments left them searching for something that wasn’t there: the feeling of being chosen, valued, and cherished.

Through the Christmas season, Big Oak Ranch strives to have every gift and moment speak to our children. That message is “You matter. You are loved.”

At Big Oak Ranch, we have the opportunity to change that story. Every gift given to our children is chosen with deep intention and love, often by their houseparents who know them best. These gifts become tangible reminders that they are seen, known, and deeply cared for.

Through these simple but meaningful acts, we show our children the kind of lavish love that many have never experienced before. A love that mirrors the heart of Christmas through God’s gift of Jesus Christ.

Each stocking stuffer and donation helps us share that message of Hope and belonging with our children in a way they can see and feel, often for the very first time.

  • My first Christmas at the Ranch is one of my most cherished memories. The gifts were nice, but the individual, personal experience is what I will forever be grateful for. We played games and had a scavenger hunt. The experience was priceless!

  • Christmas before Big Oak meant a few hand-me-down presents, and we did not really celebrate as a family. Once at Big Oak, I got to experience my first real Christmas. My houseparents and I bonded over music, so my favorite present that year was a CD player and a Toby Mac CD.

  • Christmas at Big Oak was always an exciting time! Some of my favorite memories of growing up at the Ranch are from Christmas time.
