This past June, one of our former residents, Hunter, graduated from the United States Marine Corps Boot Camp. We are so proud of him and his courage, discipline, and faith that has brought him to this moment, and we can’t wait to see how the Lord continues to lead him in this new chapter as a Marine! Read more from Hunter below:
“I am so thankful for Big Oak Ranch, and the valuable lessons that I have learned there. The atmosphere at Big Oak has surrounded me with those who are close to God and full of wisdom. The people at Big Oak have been through experiences in their lives that have taught me lessons, like what to and what not to do. I am thankful for my mom and pop. They have pushed me to grow into a better man each and every day. I am also thankful for my resource family, Adam and Tracy Brown, and how they took me in my senior year and blessed me.
I feel ready to travel around the world and see things that I’ll probably only see once in my lifetime.
I think that it is important to serve because it is the act of setting yourself aside and holding other people’s lives and your country bigger than yourself. It is a selfless act, and I think that is what God has called me to do. I also think He has called me to help people come closer to God in the military.”
